Power of the Purse will culminate on March 1, 2012 at the Onion Pub, with a
luncheon that will include live and silent auctions of designer and
custom handbags. Purchase tickets now from the link on the left. At the luncheon, we will announce the recipient, learn
more about their program, and how our contribution will be utilized.
Founding Members will be highlighted and honored with a commemorative
badge, a listing in the program, and a special gift.
There is a new and exciting fundraising effort that we are launching at the Barrington Area United Way. BAUW is always looking to identify philanthropic opportunities that will allow us to achieve our mission of mobilizing the caring power of our community. Our latest initiative, the Power of the Purse, has the potential to be one of our most successful community impact programs. In order for that to happen, we're reaching out to our friends and neighbors and asking for your help.
As a like-minded woman who understands the critical importance of positively impacting the lives of at-risk women and children, we're asking you to become a Founding Member of the Power of the Purse. We invite you to join us by making a contribution of $100. We have a goal of enlisting at least 100 women to serve as Founding Members, which would allow us to launch this new initiative in a powerful and meaningful manner.
By becoming a Founding member of Power of the Purse, you will also help the BAUW to reach these other important objectives:
Increase Awareness of needs that exist throughtout our community.
Promote self-sufficiency and well being of those in needs.
Build a coalition of Women United for Women that promotes positive change.
Please join us in this new community effort by becoming a Founding Member of Power of the Purse today.
